Career Camps

Career Camp is a hands-on, skill-building experience offered to students during school breaks for students ages 14-21—such as spring, summer, and winter. Designed to prepare students for real-world success, these camps focus on critical job readiness areas, including Workplace Readiness Training, Self-Advocacy, Career Exploration, and Postsecondary Education Counseling. Students gain exposure to practical career fields like hospitality (hosting, waitressing, cooking) and retail (stocking, cashiering, bagging), and activities that promote independence, confidence, and decision-making. By the end of the camp, participants leave with a professional resume, a personalized cover letter, and a certificate of completion—powerful tools that can support future employment or educational pathways.

These Vocational Rehabilitation Career Camps (VRCCs) are structured around a variety of Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), ensuring that each camp experience is tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of participating students. Offered in collaboration with approved VR Career Camp providers, the program integrates a flexible mix of five key service areas: Career Exploration (CE), Postsecondary Education Counseling (PE), Workplace Readiness Training (WR), Self-Advocacy Skills (SA), and Work-Based Learning Experiences (WE). Camps are scheduled whenever students are out of school for at least three consecutive days, making them accessible during common break periods. This unique opportunity empowers students to explore their interests, build confidence, and gain the foundational tools necessary to take the next steps toward employment and independence.
